We held our 2016 Best Friend Award Ceremony in November, with Victoria's environment minister speaking very positively about the told Friends groups play in caring for our protected areas.
We are pleased that the Strengthening Parks review is being undertaken and hope the results will lead to substantial improvements to the operation and future of parks in this state, particularly those managed by Parks Victoria.

The new biodiversity strategy, Protecting Victoria's Environment – Biodiversity 2036, is to be commended for its ambition to reverse the continued loss of biodiversity in Victoria, as well as for recognising the historic and contemporary actions that are the cause.
